Frequently Asked Questions

Is Playlite safe?
Yes. The source code is 100% open for anyone to verify. No personal information is ever saved on remote servers.
Can I get banned on Steam/Epic?
No. The integration with these platforms uses official methods and is completely safe, acting only as a reader to organize your games.
Does it download pirated games?
No. Playlite is a game organizer that uses official platforms to list and manage only the games you have legitimately acquired.
Is there a Linux/Mac version or just Windows?
The Windows version is available, and Linux is currently in testing (to be released as a flatpak soon). There are no plans to develop a Mac version.
Do I need to create an account?
No, Playlite doesn't require its own account. You only need to authenticate your platform accounts (Steam, Epic) and services (Gamebrain, Gemini) if you want to use their features. Authentication happens locally and no data is sent to the Playlite developer.
Is there integration for consoles or mobile?
No. Playlite is an organizer designed and focused exclusively on PC games.
